General Questions About University Admissions & Counselling
Question: When should a student start thinking about university planning and counselling?
Answer: While it's never too early to start thinking about post-secondary education, we generally recommend students begin focused planning in Grades 9, 10 or 11. This allows ample time for strategic course selection, extracurricular involvement, and building a strong application profile. However, we also work effectively with Grade 12 students needing last-minute support!
Question: What is the difference between a high school guidance counsellor and a private university counsellor?
Answer: High school guidance counselors are invaluable, providing support for a large student body across many areas. As private educational consultants, we offer a more specialized, in-depth, and personalized service. We can dedicate extensive one-on-one time to your specific academic goals, delve deeply into program research, refine application essays, and provide strategic guidance tailored precisely to your aspirations, which can be challenging in a larger school setting.
Question: Do you guarantee admission to a specific university?
Answer: No ethical counsellor can guarantee admission to any specific university or program, as admission decisions are ultimately made by the institutions themselves. However, our services are designed to significantly strengthen your application, highlight your unique strengths, and guide you towards programs where you are most likely to thrive and gain admission, thereby maximizing your chances of success.

Question: Do you offer in-person or virtual sessions?

Question: How long does the counselling process typically take?
Answer: The duration varies greatly depending on the student's current grade level, specific needs, and the services chosen. Early planning can span a few years, while focused application support might take several months. We work at your pace to ensure thorough and effective guidance.
Question: Are parents involved in the process?
Answer: Absolutely! We believe in a collaborative approach. While our primary focus is on empowering the student, we actively involve parents/guardians in key discussions and updates, ensuring everyone is aligned and informed throughout the journey.
